The Local Authorities Law (Advisor for the Advancement of the Status of Women) 5768 – 2008 (Amendment No. 1) states that the local authority is obliged to employ an advisor for the status of women for the head of the authority.
A consultant for the advancement of the status of women will be selected through a tender and her appointment will be presented to the local authority council; once a consultant for the advancement of the status of women has been appointed, the local authority will notify the Minister and the Authority for the Advancement of the Status of Women, and will forward a copy of the letter of appointment to them.
If an employee from among the employees of the local authority is appointed to fill the position of advisor for the advancement of the status of women in addition to another position she holds in the authority, her rank will be as stated in paragraph (1) or the rank that was legally attached to her position on the eve of the appointment, plus one rank, whichever is higher.
